Workshops, Rides, Movies, Party's and More! All events are free and at the at the Good Life unless otherwise mentioned. All workshops are $10, or subsidies are easily available upon request. September 9 6:30: Gears September 15: Women's Wednesday: Brakes: a brake workshop for women. A trans inclusive event September 16 6:30: Queers and Gears: an introductory bike mechanics workshop by and for queer folks and allies. The Good Life is a queer positive and anti-oppressive space. September 23 6:30: Headsets: learn how to remove and install forks and stems, inspect and service any headset type September 24 5:30: Monthly Critical Mass Bike Ride: Pride Ride: A world wide community ride organised by no one in particular. Meet in Eau Claire Plaza on 3 St and 3 Ave SW. September is pride month in Calgary, so come to critical mass to celebrate in style. September 29 6:30: Women's Wednesday: Women's Wednesday: an introductory bike mechanics workshop for women. A trans inclusive event. September 30 6:30: Wheel Building: Learn how to build a wheel from the hub up. October 7 6:30: Brakes October 13 6:30: Women's Wednesday: Gears: a gear workshop for women. A trans inclusive event October 14 6:30: Bottom Brackets October 21 6:30: Single Speed Conversions: Learn how to turn your ride into a single speed. October 27: 6:30: Women's Wednesday: Headsets: a headsets workshop for women. A trans inclusive event. October 28: 6:30: Bike Art Night: come make a picture frame out of a wheel rim. They make very nice gifts, or something pretty for your wall. October 29: 5:30: Monthly Critical Mass Bike Ride: A world wide community ride organised by no one in particular. Meet in Eau Claire Plaza on 3 St and 3 Ave SW. All workshops are two hours long and cost $10 suggested donation unless otherwise noted. If cost is an issue for you, ask about how you can volunteer in lieu of paying. Please call the Good Life at 403 984-4727 to register for workshops – space is limited! Please arrive10 minutes early if you are not already a member Participants may bring their own bikes in or can play with Shop bikes. People of all ages, languages, abilities, and bike backgrounds are welcome and encouraged to come to Good Life workshops. The Good Life is a queer, trans, disability and family positive space!
